Boomdaddy
Professional veterans of the Vancouver Caribbean/reggae scene, this upbeat reggae/ funk band continues to pack dance floors everywhere. To name a few, BoomDaddy performs at top live music venues such as “The Commodore”, “Guilt and Company” and “Vivace on the Drive”. Receiving airplay on local stations and recently booked as the opening band for major Jamaican touring acts such as: “The Wailers”, Lee “Scratch“ Perry, “Culture” and “Collie Budz”, BoomDaddy works hard to spread the vibe. As well they have appeared at Caribbean festivals throughout the lower mainland.
Led by singer/rapper/drummer Darryl Reimer, they bring an energetic mix of originals and unique reggae versions of well-loved pop songs including their reggae version of ”Jolene”. Rich, three-part harmonies are layered over powerful, heavy grooves as they perform cuts from their recent albums “Living it Up” and “Reggae Train”. Also featured in the group are: vocalist Claire O’Callaghan, Kelly Brown (guitar), Mark Campbell (bass) and keyboardist/ vocalist Michel Jolicoeur.
"Reggae Train" is the latest BoomDaddy release, a collection of upbeat reggae and funk originals. Album is available on youtube, Spotify, Apple music, also:
