Bryce Malenstyn
Bryce Malenstyn uses music to tell everyday stories in a way that feels fun and unique while still being quite literal.
With influences from funk and pop to jazz and R&B, Bryce, alongside his band, delivers dynamic performances that blend infectious rhythms from the bass and drums with soulful melodies from the horns and vocals. Inspired by the music of the 70’s and 80’s, Bryce tries to create new music that still connects with the singles they grew up listening to on their record player. Like the Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells record he found in the dollar bin of Neptune records in Vancouver, which lead to hours of a 12 year old boy running around a farm singing “groovy kind of love”.
Having studied jazz and performance, Bryce strives to create music that is enjoyable for everyone while still touching into his knowledge of harmony, melody, and arranging. Bryce’s goal every time he picks up a mic or steps on stage is to bring people joy while doing what he loves, performing alongside his best friends.
